Written work

This is a screenplay I wrote for my Screenwriting class while studying abroad in Bath, England in the spring of 2017. The title is Guadalupe and it is a surreal adventure that came to me as I walked the streets of Bath, feeling out of place as an American. This displays my imagination and sense of humor in a brief piece that shows the kind of creative work I love doing.

This piece was written in my junior spring (’17) while I was studying theatre abroad in Bath, England. I think my in-depth analysis of the humor of John Godber’s Bouncers shows the kind of close reading I am willing to do on any script. Furthermore, Bouncers is a multi-layered play that is not what it first appears. I think my analysis of the transitions between subjects and the effect it has on the audience also displays my work ethic. I find that the best creative work on a show cannot happen without a thorough understanding of the script and the forces at play. Herein I talk about various flavors of comedy employed by John Godber to tell a horrific and saddening truth about Northern England. This displays the kind of work I am willing to put into any script I am cast in, as I wouldn’t feel comfortable performing without it.
